The museum is always looking for volunteers who can help us improve the visitor experience. There are positions for many interests and knowledge levels. When you volunteer with the Sweetwater County Historical Museum, you are upholding our mission to connect people to the story of Sweetwater County by preserving and presenting its natural and cultural history. Ways You Can Help

As a volunteer, you can choose the position that best fits your interests, such as:

  • Events Aide (Dia de los Muertos, 3rd Grade History Fair, and other programs)
  • Front Desk Greeter & Store Aide
  • Gardening and Grounds Volunteer
  • Foreign Language Translator Volunteer
  • Cataloging Volunteer
  • Oral History Interviewer & Transcriber

Volunteers must complete an application and review our volunteer policies. Volunteers must be at least 12 years old; those under 18 will need a parent or guardian to sign their application.
